01 What is Med Mend
Med Mend is an independent second medical opinion platform. We connect patients globally with credentialed specialists from the Med Mend Panel for written reports and short video consultations. Our role is to support informed decision making when the stakes are high or the pathway is complex.
02 What types of work will I do
• Written specialist reports using a structured template with AI scribe support
• Short video consultations focused on interpretation, options and decision support
03 How are cases allocated
Med Mend works like a rideshare style system similar to Uber. You can view available cases and accept what suits your availability and preference. You can decline cases without penalty.
04 Do I need to take on ongoing care
No. There is no expectation to convert patients into ongoing care. You provide an opinion based on the information available and the patient takes that opinion back to their treating team.
05 Are there quotas or performance targets
No. There are no performance quotas, marketing obligations or expectations around volume. Independence is central to our model.
06 What is the expected time commitment
- Written reports: typically 15 minutes depending on complexity
- Video consultations: typically 20 minutes
07 How is remuneration structured
- Remuneration is paid per case and is transparent and competitive reflecting the expertise and preparation required.
- Contact support@medmend.app for more information on pricing.
08 When and how do I get paid
Payment is made per completed case through the Med Mend Platform. Operational details on payment timing and method are confirmed during onboarding based on your location and preferred payment rail.
09 What clinical governance is in place
- Second opinions are independent and based on the information provided
- Active Medico-legal team ensuring all legal and regulatory compliance is met
- In-house legal team is available for support
- Admin and ICT support is internal and provided based on need
- Full-time operations team with clear escalation points and accountability
- All specialists and their insurances are verified and kept up-to-date
- End-to-end system built and maintained to ensure evidence-based and contextual
- Clear boundaries for urgent presentations with referral to local services
- Structured documentation and reporting
- Respect for uncertainty and limits of available information
10 What is expected in a written report
Written reports should be structured, clinically grounded and clear. They should summarise the information reviewed, provide reasoning, outline differential considerations where relevant and describe options or next steps for discussion with the treating team.
11 What is expected in a video consultation
Video consultations are intended to clarify findings, answer questions and support decision making. They are not intended to replace an in-person examination or take over care.
12 How do I join
You will be guided through onboarding, credential verification and setting your availability and preferences.
